Madrid is calling the next generation of founders. Applications are now open for the first-ever Spanish edition of the Startup World Cup, taking place 25–26 May 2026 in Madrid and organised by Fasttrack Ventures in partnership with IESE Business School and Pegasus Tech Ventures.

Powered globally by Pegasus Tech Ventures in Silicon Valley, the Startup World Cup is the world’s largest startup pitch competition, bringing together founders, investors and corporates across more than 70 countries. Each regional competition selects one winning startup that advances to the Grand Finale in San Francisco, where they will compete for a $1 million investment prize.

For the first time, Spain will host its own national competition in Madrid, creating a platform for the country’s most promising startups to gain international visibility, connect with global investors and corporates, and compete on the world stage.

Startups from across Spain and the wider European ecosystem are invited to apply and join a curated selection process that will culminate in a live pitch competition during the event.

What to expect in Madrid

• A selection of high-potential startups evaluated by a top-tier jury of investors and industry leaders.
• A group of finalists pitching live on stage during the event.
• One winning startup advancing to represent Spain at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in San Francisco.

More than a pitch competition, Startup World Cup Spain aims to become a meeting point for founders, investors, corporates and ecosystem leaders interested in shaping the next generation of technology and innovation.

The event will take place at IESE Business School in Madrid, bringing together the startup ecosystem for two days of conversations, connections and global opportunities.
